Notifications — Push Notifications
Give River can send you push notifications to keep you informed about activity that involves you. You control which notification types are active and how granular they are.
Notification Types
The in-app notification settings screen lets you configure two categories:

| Category | Options |
|---|---|
| Likes | Off / From people I follow / From everyone |
| Comments | Off / From people I follow / From everyone |
A master Turn Off All toggle disables all push notifications at once regardless of the individual category settings.
How to Access Notification Settings

- Go to Settings (tap the settings icon or your avatar).
- Scroll to the App section.
- Tap Notification.
- The Notification Settings screen opens.
Configuring Like Notifications
- On the Notification Settings screen, find the Likes section.
- Choose one option by tapping the circle next to it:
- Off — no push notifications for likes
- From people I follow — only notified when someone you follow likes your post
- From everyone — notified for every like on your posts
- Your choice saves automatically.
Configuring Comment Notifications
- On the Notification Settings screen, find the Comments section.
- Choose one option:
- Off — no push notifications for comments
- From people I follow — only notified when someone you follow comments on your post
- From everyone — notified for every comment on your posts
- Your choice saves automatically.
Turning Off All Notifications
- On the Notification Settings screen, tap the circle next to Turn Off All.
- Both Likes and Comments are immediately set to Off.
- To re-enable notifications, deselect Turn Off All and then pick your preferred option for each category.
In-App Event Notifications
Separate from push notification settings, Give River also shows in-app popup notifications for certain events — such as earning a badge, receiving a sticker, getting a gift, or being invited to a group. These are delivered by Ugo, the platform mascot. See the Ugo Mascot article for details.
Notification Settings on Web
The Notification Settings page is now fully themed on the web app — typography, colors, and toggle controls match the rest of the web UI in both light and dark mode. The settings themselves are the same as on mobile.
Email Notifications
Push notifications (covered here) are separate from email notifications. To manage your email notification preferences, see the Email Notification Preferences article.
