Group Video Events with Live Drops & Trivia

Before You Start

• Video is an optional add-on to an event. It appears only on events where the organizer turned on "Add video," so you don't need to schedule anything separately — you join from the same event you already see in your Team Hub.
• Your organization needs the Video Events feature enabled on its plan. If you're a host and don't see the option when creating an event, check with your workspace owner or admin.
• You'll need a working camera and microphone for interactive calls (webinar viewers and watch-party guests don't need to turn theirs on).

Joining a Video Event

1. Open the event from your Team Hub (or the reminder/notification link).
2. If the event has video, you'll see a Join button. Its label tells you the state:
   • "Starts in…" — the event hasn't opened yet (the button is disabled).
   • "Join now" — the room is live; tap to enter.
   • "Ended" — the session is over.
3. Tap Join now to enter the room. Grant camera/mic access if prompted.

The Three Event Formats

In a watch party, the host controls play, pause and skip — the video stays in sync for the whole room, and anyone who joins late catches up automatically.

Getting a Drop on Video

When a host awards you Drops during the event, you'll see a celebration animation appear on screen right away, and the Drops are added to your balance just like any other recognition. Everyone in the room sees it — that's the point: recognition in the moment, in front of the team. You may also see a note in the event chat so people following along there don't miss it.

For Hosts

If you created the event (or you're its host), you have extra controls inside the room.

Award Drops live

1. Tap a participant's tile (or the Attendance / give control).
2. Pick an amount (for example 5, 10, or 25).
3. Confirm — the recipient's balance updates and the celebration plays for the whole room instantly.

Run live Trivia

Turn any trivia game into a live, host-paced round during the event:

1. Bind one of your trivia games to the room, then tap Start round. The question and options appear for everyone at once, with a countdown.
2. Participants tap their answer and submit before time runs out. Answers stay hidden — no one sees who's right until you reveal.
3. Tap Close round. Give River scores every submission, auto-awards Drops for correct answers, and shows the results and leaderboard to the room.

Because scoring happens on the server only after you close the round, the answer key is never exposed and late answers past the timer are rejected — the game stays fair.

See who attended

Open Attendance to see who joined, how many minutes each person spent, and who's currently in the room. This is captured automatically.

End the event

Tap End to close the room for everyone when you're done.

Tips & Troubleshooting

• Can't see a Join button? The event may not have video enabled, the room may not be live yet, or your plan may not include Video Events.
• Black screen or "couldn't connect"? Leave and tap Join now again — a quick reconnect usually fixes it. Check your network if it persists.
• Watch party out of sync? It re-syncs to the host automatically within a second or two; you can also leave and rejoin to snap back to the host's position.
• Trivia answer wouldn't submit? The round's timer likely ended. You can only submit while the round is open.
