HRIS Integration (BambooHR)

Give River connects to BambooHR to automatically sync your employee roster. Once connected, new hires and departures in BambooHR can be reflected in Give River without manual data entry.

What the Integration Does

The BambooHR integration:

  • Pulls employee records from your BambooHR account into Give River
  • Lets you sync employees on demand
  • Keeps your Give River team roster aligned with your HR system of record
  • Can be toggled on or off without losing your saved credentials

Connecting BambooHR

  1. Sign in to Give River as an admin.
  2. Navigate to Settings → Integrations. The screen is grouped into Communications (Slack, Microsoft Teams) and HRIS Platforms.
  3. In the HRIS Platforms section, select BambooHR (the provider you can connect today).
  4. Enter your credentials:

Subdomain Your BambooHR subdomain (the part before .bamboohr.com in your login URL)
API Key Your BambooHR API key
  1. Tap Test Connection to verify Give River can reach your BambooHR account.
  2. If the test succeeds, tap Save.

Finding Your BambooHR Credentials

Subdomain: If your BambooHR URL is acme.bamboohr.com, your subdomain is acme.

API Key: In BambooHR, click your name in the top-right corner → API Keys → Add New Key. Copy the generated key and paste it into Give River. Store it somewhere safe — BambooHR will not show it again.

Syncing Employees

After connecting, you can sync your employee data at any time:

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → HRIS Platforms.
  2. Tap Sync Employees.
  3. Give River will fetch the latest employee list from BambooHR and update your team roster.

After a sync finishes, Give River shows the result in the HRIS panel — for example, how many employees were synced, and how many failed — when that detail is available.

Managing the Integration

Action How
Test connection Tap Test Connection — confirms credentials are valid
Enable/disable Use the toggle to pause sync without deleting credentials
Delete credentials Remove saved credentials entirely via the delete option
Update API key Enter a new key in the API Key field and save

Supported Providers

BambooHR is the provider you can connect today. ADP and Paylocity appear in the HRIS Platforms list marked Coming Soon — they are on the roadmap but cannot be connected yet.
