Signing In to Give River

Give River uses passwordless authentication. Instead of a password, you receive a 4-digit one-time code every time you sign in. You can also sign in with Google or (on iPhone) Apple.

Email or Phone Login

  1. Open Give River and tap Get Started or navigate to the login screen.
  2. Choose whether to sign in with your email address or phone number by toggling between the two options.
  3. Enter your email or phone number and tap Continue.
  4. Give River sends a 4-digit verification code to your email or phone via SMS.
  5. On the verification screen, enter each digit in the four input boxes. The cursor moves automatically after each digit.
    • Made a mistake? Use Backspace to move back to the previous box.
  6. Once all four digits are entered, Give River verifies the code automatically — no need to tap a submit button.

Resend or Get Help

  • If you don't receive your code, tap Resend? on the verification screen to request a new one.
  • If you're having trouble, tap Need help? to open an email to support@giveriver.com.

Social Sign-In

Give River supports signing in with your existing accounts:

Apple Available on iOS only

Tap the Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple button on the login screen. You'll be redirected to your chosen provider to authorize Give River, then returned to the app automatically.

New vs. Returning Users

The new-user screen shown when an email address has no Give River account yet.

When you verify your OTP code, Give River checks whether your account already exists:

  • New user — you'll be taken through the post-signup onboarding experience (the welcome wizard and cause selection).
  • Returning user — you'll go directly to the Home feed.

Autofill and Password Managers

The four boxes you type your verification code into are a single hidden input under the hood. That means iOS / Android / browser autofill and password managers can fill the entire code in one go — when your platform suggests the SMS code, accept it and all four boxes populate at once. Tabbing, focus order, and screen readers also treat it as one field.

If you'd rather type each digit, that still works exactly as before.

Terms and Privacy

Links to Give River's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy are available on the login screen. Tap either link to read them in your browser before creating an account.
