Admin Research Center (Leadership Resources)

The Admin Research Center — also referred to as Leadership Resources — provides admins with educational content, help videos, and contextual guidance embedded throughout the platform. These resources are designed to help admins make the most of Give River's features.

Help Videos

Help videos appear as contextual play buttons throughout the Engage and other admin screens. These are curated tutorial videos associated with specific sections of the platform.

Watching a Help Video

  1. Look for the help video button (a play icon or "Watch Tutorial" link) within a section of the Engage page or other admin screens.
  2. Click the button to open the help video dialog.
  3. The video plays inline — no new tab or external redirect required.
  4. Use standard video controls (play/pause, volume, fullscreen) to watch at your own pace.
  5. Click the X in the dialog header to close when done.

Video Formats

Help videos support two formats:

Format How It Works
YouTube Embedded YouTube player loads directly in the dialog
Server-hosted video Custom video player with play/pause, scrubbing, and volume controls

Help Video Keys

Videos are associated with specific sections using internal keys (e.g., engage_tags for the Tags section). The platform automatically shows the relevant video for the section you are in.

Accessing Help Across the Platform

In addition to section-specific videos, contextual help is available in the following ways:

  • Tooltip text — hover over icons or labels in settings dialogs for brief explanations.
  • Sub-titles — each Engage section (Seasons, Surveys, Polls, etc.) displays a descriptive subtitle explaining the purpose of that section.
  • Dialog descriptions — creation dialogs include field hints and placeholder text to guide input.
