What Is a Completion Question?

After you mark a Stream as complete, Give River may present a short Completion Question — a feedback prompt tied specifically to that lesson. This is separate from quiz-type Streams. It appears as a pop-up dialog immediately after the Stream is recorded as complete, before you move on.

Completion questions are optional per Stream. If the admin has not enabled them for a particular Stream, you move straight to the drops/celebration screen.

When It Appears

The completion question dialog triggers automatically when all of the following are true:

  • You tap Done or Share to complete a Stream.
  • The Stream has one or more questions attached to it.
  • The admin has enabled the completion question setting for that Stream (completionQuestionEnabled = 1).

Question Types

Completion questions support four formats:

Type How to answer
Open-ended / Description Type a free-text response in the text field
Single choice Tap one option from a radio list
Multiple choice Tap all options that apply using checkboxes
Scale Drag a slider between the minimum and maximum values (labels shown at each end)

How to Answer a Completion Question

  1. After completing a Stream, the Feedback Time dialog appears automatically.
  2. The current question number and total count are shown at the top (e.g., "Question 1/2").
  3. Answer the question using the appropriate input (text, radio, checkbox, or slider).
  4. Tap Next to move to the next question. You must provide an answer before proceeding — an error message appears if you try to skip.
  5. On the last question, tap Submit instead of Next. Your responses are sent to Give River.
  6. To go back and change a previous answer, tap Previous.

Recent Fixes

  • Larger tap targets in the completion dialog — buttons and answer choices are easier to hit, especially on phones.
  • Accurate drops messaging. The "drops earned" message in the completion dialog now reflects the real reward; previously it could show a stale or off-by-one value if the run had been republished since you started it.

Notes

  • All questions are required. You cannot submit without answering each one.
  • Once submitted, answers are recorded against your account and the specific Stream and River Run. You cannot resubmit.
  • After submitting, the Drops earned dialog (or run completion celebration) appears as normal.
  • Completion questions are created and managed by admins when building a River Run. See the Admin: River Run Creation article for details.
