Overview

Give River tracks your learning progress at two levels: the individual Stream level (did you complete this lesson?) and the overall River Run level (what percentage of the run have you finished?). Progress is displayed throughout the app so you always know where you stand.

River Run cards showing per-course completion progress.

Progress on Run Cards (Current Runs)

When you open your Current Runs section, each enrolled run card shows:

  • A percentage complete label (e.g., "45% Complete")
  • A progress bar that fills from left to right as you complete more Streams
  • The bar color changes based on how far along you are:
    • Blue/secondary color: under 25% complete
    • Primary color: 25–74% complete
    • Green/tertiary color: 75% or above

The progress bar also has a small dot indicator that moves along the bar to show your exact position.

Progress Inside an Enrolled Run

When you open a specific River Run (the enrolled course page), you can see:

  • A list of all Sections and their Streams, organized in the order set by the admin
  • Each Stream is marked as completed, available, or locked
  • A lock icon appears on Streams that have not yet unlocked (controlled by drip release rules the admin set)
  • A checkmark or completed indicator on Streams you have already finished

When a Stream is locked due to a time-based drip rule, a dialog shows how long until it unlocks: "Your next Stream will unlock in: X hours, Y minutes."

The Learning Analytics Panel

The Progress Overview banner on the River Runs home screen (tap the expand arrow to fully open it) shows aggregated stats across all your enrolled runs:

Metric What it means
Active Runs Number of River Runs you are currently enrolled in
Drops Earned Total Drops accumulated from Stream completions
Completed Number of individual Streams you have finished out of your total enrolled Streams
Enrolled Runs Progress A progress bar showing completed runs vs. total enrolled runs
River Runs Distribution A pie chart breaking down your runs into Completed, In Progress, and Not Started
Drops Earned (period) Drops earned in the current period (weekly or monthly, set by your org) with your period maximum

Run Completion Celebration

When you complete the final Stream in a River Run (course progress reaches 100%), a celebration dialog appears with:

  • A congratulatory message
  • An animated character (Ugo)
  • The number of Drops you earned, shown as an animated count-up
  • A message about your remaining earnable Drops for the period
  • Confetti animation

After closing this dialog, the run moves from Current Runs to Completed Runs on your home screen.

Viewing Completed Runs

Scroll to the Completed Runs section on the River Runs home screen (it appears once you've finished your first run), or tap View All to see the full list. Completed run cards still show the thumbnail, instructor, and run details, so you can re-open them to review Stream content at any time.
