Using Give River in Microsoft Teams

Once Give River is integrated with your Microsoft Teams workspace, you can start recognizing and rewarding your colleagues directly within your team channels and chats.

💧 How to Give Drops

Method 1: Using the Apps Menu

Access Give River: In any Teams chat or channel, click the + icon in the message compose area

Select Give River: From the apps menu, choose "Give River" from the list of available apps

Fill the Form: Complete the Give Drops popup with:

  1. Users: Select the teammate(s) you want to recognize
  2. Message: Write a personalized message explaining the recognition
  3. Company Values: Choose relevant company values that apply
  4. Drops: Select the number of drops to give (1-5)
  5. Private: Check this box if you want the recognition visible only to you and the recipient

Submit: Click the Submit button to send your recognition

Method 2: Using Drop Emojis and "@" in the chat modal

You can also use drop emojis (💧) in your regular Teams messages:

  • Inside the Chat window, type "@" to 'mention' a team member
  • Include a note to describe why you are sharing drops.
  • Choose the 'emoji icon' to add a 'drop emoji'

Method 3: Quick Drop Response

When someone receives drops, you'll see a notification in the channel with an "Add your 💧" button. Click this to quickly give drops to the team member mentioned above. Include a note to describe why you are sharing drops.

🎉 Recognition Notifications

When drops are given, Teams will display a message showing:

  • Who received the drops
  • How many drops they received (shown with 💧 emojis)
  • Who gave the drops
  • An option for others to add their own drop

📊 Tracking Your Impact

To see your giving and receiving history:

  • Visit your personal dashboard through the Give River app
  • View drops given and received

  • Give in Context: Send drops directly in the channel where the great work happened
